About Us

We make fishing fun!  Captain Grant Gulley and The Sport Fishing Team of Rodz N' Reelz has been fishing South Haven for their entire lives.  Capt. Grant grew up fishing on Nichols Perch Charters and has fished salmon tournaments for the last 15 years.  He has fished every port on the West coast of Michigan that holds a salmon tournament but South haven is and always will be home.  His lifetime passion is fishing and will take any opportunity to expose newcomers to the sport that he loves and the world class fishery Lake Michigan has to offer.

Grant Gulley and Hood Outdoors were recently featured in Episode 1 of Season 2 of the popular TV show Das Boat which is created by MeatEater.  In the first episode of Season 2, Steve introduces you to the new Das Boat—Dos Boat. After a bumpy start, Steve gets to South Haven, MI, where he recruits the help of local charter captain Grant Gulley. Steve, Grant, and a local fabricator put in 10 hours of work getting the boat ready to fish for lake trout in 100 feet of water.

  Rodz N' Reelz is a fully rigged 31' Foot Tiara Open with lots of room for comfort and is a State inspected and licensed vessel owned by Harvey Hood and Aaron Hart.  We welcome trips up to 6 people including individuals, families, executives, and corporations.  Children are always welcome and we are fully equipped with the latest safety equipment and children's life jackets.

The Most Local Experience

Captain Grant Gulley has been fishing South Haven his entire life. He also has extensive experience fishing the Tournament Trail across the entire State of Michigan with numerous high finishes and prizes won. He also runs his own tackle company producing Yogurt Flies and other big lake trolling products. He will put you on the fish!

NO FUEL SURCHARGE

Unlike many of the other local charter vessels, we will never charge you an additional fee for fuel. Some days the fish are out deep and it requires more fuel to get fish in the boat. Instead of just fishing for Lake Trout inshore, we want to give you the experience of a lifetime catching the most desired species, King Salmon.

TOURNAMENT EXPERIENCE

Both Owner Harvey Hood and Captain Grant Gulley fish regularly on the Tournament Trail. We have proven to be one of the best catching boats on all of Lake Michigan with many high finishes and winning prizes. We make sure that your trip will be a good one!

LATEST TACKLE & SUPPLIES

Harvey Hood, who owns a local fishing and hunting store in South Haven, is the the proud co-owner of Rodz N' Reelz Charters along with business partner Aaron Hart. Because of this, we are able to get the latest tackle and supplies that the rest of the fleet can't. We can also provide fishing licenses for all of your crew at no additional cost.
